Brighton and Beachy Head Cliffs (Eastbourne)

Nearest Train Station: Brighton
How to get here: There are several ways from Victoria, Blackfriars, Clapham, and King's Cross.  The fast one is in Victoria station that passes by Gatwick and takes one hour (but is also the most expensive one which is 20 pounds return.  Otherwise, it takes 1.5 hours and may cost 10 pounds from King's Cross.  Another way is to go to Eastbourne and take the bus from there.

How to go to Beach head?  Take Bus 13X which runs from Brighton to Eastbourne.
Note: It may only be an hourly frequency and the last bus is probably around 6.30.
You can buy the ticket directly from the Driver: 1 day ticket costs around 7 pounds and A family day ticket (max of 2 adults and 3 children) is around 9 pounds.
Tip: If you want cheaper, download the app from http://www.buses.co.uk/app, download the app and buy the ticket there for 4.10 for one person and 7.80 for duo saver.

Gardner Street

Lots of interesting Cafes and interesting things to see. A tame-down version of Camden.

The Lanes

The Lanes are a collection of narrow lanes in Brighton, in the city of Brighton and Hove famous for their small shops (including several antique shops) and narrow alleyways. (Wiki)

Royal Pavilion

Brighton Pavilion is an interesting and exotic palace. I haven't really seen anything similar.  The interior of the palace have a lot of Chinese Influence (they have dragons and 'bamboo' shaped stair railings) while the exterior has a large Indian Influence.

Where to Eat?

Riddle and Finns

Where: There are two restaurants, one in The Lanes and the other in the Beachfront, if you are facing the Palace Pier coming from the train station, it is to your right.  You will most likely see an Odeon Cinema along the main road and then you can cross the street to go to the beachfront.

For Starts, the White bait and Calamari were amazing.

For just 18.50 Pounds, this is probably the most bang for the buck.  A whole crab fried and mixed with either Singapore chilli or Malaysian style.  I tried the Malaysia style which was quite sweet and a bit Malaysian curry-ish taste. It was not hot nor spicy at all.  Eating it was quite a mess though.

Sea Bass
Local Bream with couscous

This is worth to buy to sample all their specialties.  The Aissete of Riddle & Finns Desserts is only around 12 Pounds and you can sample their desserts.  I like the lychee sorbet (with a bit of mint taste) as it is refreshing.  The brownies are good as well. The rest are good but nothing spectacular, Eton Mess, Almond Mouse, Panna Cotta (with a strong hint of coconut), Crumble, and Cherry Cake.

Along the Beach Food Stalls

Along the beach, there are small huts selling cheap Oysters (6 for 5.50), Cockles, Crayfish, Scallops etc.   They can go from 1.50, 2.50, 3.50 for a small, medium, or large tub.  Try it, it is fresh and really cheap.  There is also a fish and chips shop at the beach front right from the Palace Pier.

This is beside the main street near the The Ship Hotel

Brighton is know for its fresh live caught fish... so obviously you should try getting Fish & Chips.... There's a couple of them along the promenade .. it's quite cheap around 6 pounds..

Lucky Beach

Along the promenade is Lucky Beach (luckybeach.co.uk).  They server really good burgers!!!

Fishy Fishy

One of the recommendations by a local is the Fishy Fishy which is close to the Lanes
