Emmy's Spaghetti Shack @Mission, San Francisco

Website:  http://www.emmysspaghettishack.com/ Address:  3230 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110 Rating: 4.5 out of 5 star Feedback:  I tried their signature Emmy's Spaghetti and Meatballs.  It was quite a big serving, with 3 huge meatballs. Meatballs were good.  It's tasty and feels like salted and peppered correctly.  It was not HARD nor was it soft enough. Just about right to be able to eat it and spoon it without a knife. Spaghetti sauce - tad sour and a bit sweet, just about right. Caesar's Romaine Lettuce - Love it and crispy! Linguine - This feels really a bit bland and didn't really enjoyed it. Service Bread (not good - not warm and tasted like yesterday's bread) Emmy's Spaghetti with Meatballs ($14.95) Linguine (White Wine) Caesar Salad Truffle Parmesan Fries

Website:  http://www.shrinenyc.com/schedule.php Address:   2271 adam clayton powell jr. blvd Rating: 4.5 out of 5 star Feedback: We went here to go for  Live Music (August 19, 2016 Saturday Evening).  Apparently, it was a place to go for food as well.  It was a good venue and note that they ask for 10 dollar entry charge after 10 PM. One thing is that it seems like people are pretty dress down here, people were just wearing shorts when I went here during Summer, so pretty chill. Also, some folks might find Harlem a bit different.  This is a predominantly African-American community. August 19, 2016 8:00 8-10pm: Tapani Sisoko- Music from Mali / Traditional *Was quite interesting Traditional Mali (African) Music 10:00 10pm-12am: Marva King- R&B / Soul *I really enjoyed this R&B music.

Pampalasa, SOMA, San Francisco

Note:  Closing in September 2016.  Just like any other shops in San Francisco, they are impacted by the high rent and just waiting for a new tenant to take over the place.  Really sad! Website: http://www.pampalasa.com/ Address: Rating: 4.5 out of 5 star Feedback: I tried their Kamayan Sunday Brunch and it was definitely a good experience.  The food generally was good, though didn't like the chicken tocino though.  Also, I wished the rice was garlic rice, rather than just steamed rice with garlic bits and spring onions. Also, make sure you are REALLY HUNGRY when you go for this.  This is TOO MUCH food.  Three of us went there and we felt that we could accommodate a 4th or 5th person with the amount of food. Price was reasonable for around 35 dollars. What is Kamayan? Kamayan means using of hands and this is a traditional Filipino style that you eat your hands.  I would however, add that this concept is more specifically called a Boodle Fight and as  Urban Dictionar

Movie Nights @ Dolores Park 2016

Image
What better way to enjoy San Francisco but to go for a Free movie at the Park.  There are various parks that hold movie nights.  You can check the schedule here ( http://sf.funcheap.com/film-night-park-goonies-dolores-park/ ).  It is definitely a great way of enjoying the city for free, considering that everything in San Francisco is now really expensive (Thanks to gentrification and thousands of techies moving to the bay area and Yes, I'm one of them). More importantly, Dolores park is a beautiful park, whether the movie is good or not, just sitting down and enjoying the view of the city is all worth it! August 13, 2016 - "The Goonies"

Pistahan 2016: Filipino Cultural Festival & Parade | SF

August 13 - 14, 2016 Parade on Saturday, August 13, 2016 http://www.pistahan.net/ PARADE How was the Parade? The parade prompted 11 am sharply.  It was not a long parade but it was great to see enough Filipino delegates and group.  Moreover, I think it wasn't such a huge event that the you can take real good pictures of the parade. It was interesting to see the Falun Dafa in the Parade. You will see various costumes - Tribal (Bahag), etc in the parade. As one of the Parade delegates mentioned "Odd Fellows while she was waiting for her group, this is soooo much better than before.  Last time, we were just doing the parade along the sidewalk. Storm Troopers? Didn't realize that the Empire has invaded the Philippines!  Where is the Philippine rebel base? Mga Guardia Sibil? Wanna see tribal costumes (Bahag?) More tribal costumes! Floattttsssssss

Outside Lands Music Festival, San Francisco, August 2016

Image
Website: http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/ Where: Golden Gate Park When: August  5 - 7 , 2016 Feedback: One of the big music festivals in SF.  If you are music lover, go for this! :) Tip: Just plan your exit strategy earlier.  Most people try to leave half an hour before the end of the day to avoid the crowd, though a lot of people are doing it already. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByCM-2OSRwRVVnduWjk2cW5MMkU VIP Pass What I think of the VIP Pass? It was good to have a different entrance which makes it faster.  There's a lounge and bleachers where you can sit and watch the main stage.   For the Twin peaks and Land's end stage, there is a section just for VIP so you can go near the stage without being packed like Sardines or people pushing you so there's a lot of space. There's an area where you can charge your phone and sit and TV to watch the concerts from other stages.  There's also a food court area just for VIPs. My V
