Website:  https://www.shnsf.com/ Date: August 16, 2018 Was also the day Anitha Franklin died so they offered a candle and played her version of "I dreamed a dream" This is so far my favorite musical Info from the SHN site Lines for Rush Hour Tickets, longer than usual but kinda cheap for 40 bucks a ticket

SF Beer Bus - SOMA line

Image
Website:  https://drinksfbeer.com/shuttle It is a  FREE  SF beer bus that brings you to 5 different bars one Wednesday a month. It runs from 6.30 to 10.30 every 10 minutes.  It is an amazing way to discover new bars around the area. The SOMA Line Route They change the lines and so they might do Bayview line in one month, and another next so check the schedule.  And this is great because you get to try out different bars every month. Also, note that Thirsty Bear Very big place and close to MOMA museum. Beers are kinda OK. 21st  Amendment Love this place as they have Watermelon on one of the Beers. Need to try the one that looks like a Frappuccino. Local Brewing Love their Beer Slushie with Tropical Flavors (passion fruit & guava)

2018 Color Run - Alameda, Oakland

Image
When: August 18, 2018 Where: Alameda, Oakland https://thecolorrun.com/ Smaller than the ones I went to in London but still FUN.   Lots of stalls giving out swags, like water bottles, Odwalla juice, and free stuff from state farm and cricket They had a party after the run but ended around 10.30 ish. Pre-Run Yoga - didn't go as it was like 7 AM! Apparently, you can run anything from 8 to 8.45! Tips They didn't provide disposable ponchos so you might need a change of clothes. Sunglasses

New Orleans

Preservation Hall Frenchmen Street Cafe Beignet or Cafe duMonde Acme Oyster Chargrilled Oyster Swamp Tour (Jean Lafayette Tour) I actually think that it wasn't really worth paying 40 bucks for the tour. (it's usually 52 dollars but we got 10 dollars off).  Apprenlty, if you drive there and buy the ticket there, it's only around 20 dollars Quite interesting though, because you go thru the swamps and you can see the Alligators, but that's basically it.   Cementery Tour If you are in New Orleans, and you want at most one tour, then do this.  St Louis Cemetry is interesting just because of how they do the cemetry in New Orleans where there could be hundreds in one site, just because apparently, they reuse it, and chug the old down to the back of it.   Interesting to find:  Nicholas Cage burial site - Yes, he bought one and was apparently used in the National Treasure Movie Marie LaVeau - The Voodoo Queen Coffees Spitfire Coffee
