Filipino Food in San Francisco
Trying to collate Filipino restaurants and fast food (carinderia) in the peninsula. So will add more as soon as I see and start eating in one of these places.
What is a Carinderia?
The Carinderia is a local eatery selling and serving and viands with wooden benches. It's also known as a "turo-turo" wherein customers literally point what they want to eat from an array of cauldrons. The carinderia was considered as a respite of travelers having originated as a quick food service in busy crossroads. Today, carinderias have evolved according to the needs to Filipinos there are now variations including the travelling carinderia and the high-class carinderia. (Wiki-Pilipinas)

Mission Area
Irma's Pampanga
Food Rating: 3.5 out of 5 (decent for a carinderia but I didn't like the pork bbq)Webpage: http://irmaspampanga.com/

- A reasonably priced fast food/carinderia in the Mission area around 16th Street and Capp Street (a street from Mission street)
- They have good selections of food and seems to be a better carinderia that the one I used
- I bought a small serving of sisig, adobong pusit, pansit, and a pork bbq stick and it only caused me 14.50 dollars
Tenderloin Area
Kusina ni Tess
Food Rating: 3.5 out of 5 (decent for a carinderia but tad pricy for the quality of the food)Webpage: http://www.kusinanitess.net/

- This was tad pricier that the other place that I have visited in Mission. 14.50 for serving of pinakbet and lechon kawali. I could prolly gotten this cheaper with other places.
- Nothing really special about the food. The Halo-halo was also just OK and a bit pricy for 5 bucks, considering they run out of leche flan.
- I will just prolly to go to Metreon's food court for the Filipino food stall there.
