Mallorca (Majorca) - Palma and Santa Ponsa

TRANSPORTATION

  • Airport: PMI (Palma, Majorca)
  • Airport to City Centre:
    • Bus 1
      • Just outside the airport and costing only 3 Euros
      • Get off at Plaza Espanya in Palma to get off the central train and bus stations
      • Every 15 minutes on weekdays, and around 30 minutes on holidays and Sundays.
  • Palma to Santa Ponsa
    • Bus 102, 104, 111
      • At the Bus station in Plaza Espanya (just beside the trains), costing 3.40 Euros and get off a Plaza Ponsa
      • 104 is slower, takes an hour, so you might just want to take 111 and 102.


THINGS TO DO

SANTA PONSA

  • One of the many resorts in Mallorca and has great water inlets




PALMA

  • Main city center of Mallorca 
  • There is a historical Palma which is great to walk around

Pueblo Espanol
  • This looks like window to the Spanish world.. they have houses and replicas of famous attractions around Spain
  • They even had a replica of Nasrjid Palace of Alhambra (and less the crowd)






Palma Cathedral
  • This is the main cathedral which has a great view of the Port and a great facade


San Miguel Church 
  • Interesting since they keep the blood of Pope John Paul II


Oliver Market (Mercat De L'Olivar)
  • Nice place to find local food, fruit, and meats



La Rambla



Passeig de Born

  • One of the main shopping streets





SANTA PONSA

  • One of the many resorts in Mallorca


FOOD



Ensaimada
One of the special pastries in Spain.  This is one type of Ensaimada with custard Cream

  Bubble Tea 3 Ways Yields 3 Servings (1 1/2cup of uncooked pearls) Ingredients Tapioca pearls: 180g (1 1/2 cups) Tapioca starch **Edit: You can add up to 1 cup extra tapioca flour if your dough is still too sticky.(Some people are having problems with sticky dough so it might help, some times humidity and the microwave step might lead to a sticky dough) 80g (6 tbsp) Muscovado or dark brown sugar  120g (1/2 cup) Hot water 60g (1/4 cup) Extra muscovado or dark brown sugar Extra water, for cooking Few cups of room temperature drinking water, for rinsing Tapioca Pearls 1. Combine 1/2 cup of hot water and 80g (6 tbsp) sugar in a heatproof/microwave safe bowl 2. Stir and if sugar is not totally dissolved, heat for 20 seconds in the microwave 3. Add in 37g (1/3 cup) of tapioca starch into the sugar solution and stir until no lumps 4. Heat the liquid on a bain-marie/ in the microwave, stirring constantly  ** I left mine 20-ish seconds in High and it came out gooey and perfect for rolling

Lake Elsinore Walker Canyon Live Camera

It's been really hard finding the live camera for Walker Canyon at Lake Elsinore so that I can check out if there is super bloom. Tiger Sugar Instant Milk Tea Instructions

  Actual Tiger Sugar (This is their Black Sugar + Pearl Milk Tea with Mousse) Oolong (Red) and Peach (Green) Tiger Sugar Tea that costs like <$3.00 per cup March 13, 2021 I have tried "The Alley" instant milk tea, now I found Tiger Sugar Instant Milk Tea in the Chinese Grocery Store (Hong Kong Plaza) in Rowland Heights, CA and costing $2.98 each .  There were three kinds: The traditional Black Sugar, Oolong, and Peach.  Since I like my milk tea with actual "tea" so I only bought the Oolong and Peach Tea flavored one.  Now I tried looking for the instructions in YT, since there were no instructions in the cup (it was kinda all in Chinese).  So I googled and found the instructions in Etsy  (and priced there for $7.99 per set or 2 cups, kinda pricy as the mark up is like 25% more than in the supermarkets ) Where I bought it? Hong Kong Supermarket (18414 Colima Rd #1, Rowland Heights, CA 91748) Instructions: Submerge the Tea Bag into 450 ml (~2 cups) of hot water
