Mitchell's Ice Cream @Mission SF

Image
Website:   http://mitchellsicecream.com/ Address:   688 San Jose Ave. (at 29th St.) San Francisco, CA 94110 Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Feedback: I personally think this is better than BiRite Ice Cream and the Queue is not bad, unlike Bi-Rite which takes you ages and is too expensive for what they are giving. I initially ordered an Ube (Yam) flavored ice cream and this reminds me of a Filipino Ice Cream - very creamy and milky (just like our home favorite - Magnolia). What is interesting is they have a lot of interesting flavors - Halo-halo, Ube, Langka, etc.

The Misfit Restaurant + Bar, Sta Monica, Los Angeles

Website: themisfitbar.com Address:  Third Street Promenade, 225 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401 Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Feedback:  Trendy Location with Good Cocktails Food trying to be "trendy" but fails in so many ways ( menu ) Crispy Lobster Nik Niks - 3 lobster sliders - I felt it was a waste of good lobster to deep fry it and put it in the sliders.  I'm sure there's better ways of "deep frying" it if they really want Ahi Burger - Tuna burger with Avocado.  You should really not order this.  The tuna is not fresh. It's basically just sort of "crumbles" when you eat... not the normal fresh seared tuna that you get anywhere. Dixie Fried Chicken - Deep fried boneless Chicken - it was OK but nothing fantastic House Made French Fries - Reminded me of In N Out Fries :)  Dixie Fried Chicken  Crispy Lobster

Website:  http://thaidishessantamonica.com/ Address :  111 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401 Food Rating: 4 out of 5 star Feedback: Generally food was just OK (except for Calamari which I didn't like) but the price is very affordable.  It was 4.5 in Zagat though. I've tried so much better food in other Thai places but good thing is that this is just near the 3rd Street Promenade and not very crowded. Shrimps and Scallops - OK! Fresh Spring Roll - realy wanted that to go with peanut sauce :( Chicken Cashew Nuts - didn't really like it. It was kinda plain Satay was OK. Calamari - not good, skip it. Coconut Juice! Yeahh!! Fish Filet! Yellow Curry Chicken Fried Rice

This year, we ended up being in Iceland coincidentally during the Winter light festival and attended a couple of their events. February 4, 2016 Opening Night THE PAINT SPLATTER ARTWORK - PAINT.IS Harpa, Studio Ólafur Elíasson and Visit Reykjavík called for proposals for an artwork which will utiliz the façade of Harpa Concert Hall. One artwork has been chosen and will be presented during The Reykjavík Winter Lights Festival. The authors are Halldór Eldjárn and Þórður Hans Baldursson. "We intend to convert the Harpa façade into a giant interactive canvas. Participants are able to illustrate the canvas by colliding it with virtual paint.
