Pike Place Market It's not just a market with shops, but an open area covering various blocks. Interesting but a bit confusing as well. Not sure if I can really buy anything there. Mee Sum Pastry Tried their Curry Beef Hom Bow  It's like a twist of Chinese Baked Bun (Siopao/pao) Quite flaky on the outside, soft on the inside, and real Beef curry stuffed inside. Quite Good and cost only < 4 dollars, quite big and filling too. Pike Place Chowder There was a long line but it moved fast Supposed to be #1 Clam Chowder in Englang Tried it and it was creamy and good. You can try their samples, and choose 4 flavors (5 oz each) for only 13.95$ Gum Wall It's just at the lowest floor - you can pass thru the Pike Place Public Market It's an alley with well..... chewing gums stuck on the wall. Perks of a Federal Shutdown - Free Entrance to National Parks - January 2018

Image
January 20 - 21, 2018 Definition "A government shutdown is when non-essential discretionary federal programs close. The president must do this when Congress fails to appropriate funds. In the normal budget process, Congress appropriates funds by September 30 for the following fiscal year. When that doesn't happen, then Congress enacts a continuing funding resolution. If Congress can't agree on one, it forces a shutdown. It signals a complete breakdown in the budget process." https://www.thebalance.com/government-shutdown-3305683 Impact Some national parks are closed but some remain open but since there is no staff manning the booths etc it means that there is no Entrance fees. Yosemite Entrance was free , no ranger manning the booth Village store and Degnan's Cafe were OPEN and they have facilities (toilets) However, toilets and visitor center were CLOSED so it was hard especially for ladies to use any facilities but you can go to the village

Terminal C - Gate C40 - 42 Boston Logan International Airport

Date: January 14, 2018 Where: Terminal C - Gate C40 - 42 Feedback: If you are taking a flight out of Boston from one of these gates, take note that these is pretty much small, there are just the three gates and prolly just 3 shops/food so there is nothing much here.  Pretty easy to go in thru security check since there are not a lot of people though but a bit annoying since you can't access lounge of Terminal C since it is in a separate area.

Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice Noodle

Image
Address : 78 Smith St, Singapore 058972 Cost: 3.80 for a chicken rice/noodle. Rating: 4 out of 5 Feedback: They have opened branches even just right opposite the original building of the hawker center.  These branches have less people and are air-conditioned.  I was there on Thursday (Jan. 5, 2018) 11 AM and there was only a couple ordering before me. Food-wise, it was good.   Chicken was tender and juicy.  Sauce they put on the rice was tad sweet.  But honestly, I had better chicken rice elsewhere in Singapore like Wee Nam Kee and Boon Tong Kee.

I ordered their signature Shoyu Ramen (Soba) with egg - Original taste (they have less salt option) Noodle-wise, thin and actually tasted good. not too cooked nor undercooked Meat - it was kinda bad for me. Tasted like a poorly tasted char siu for me. Egg -just the way I like Ramen Eggs Soup - I think the truffles did not go well with the Ramen Soup.  I did not understand the taste and it was kinda overpowering.  Mebbe if they just added just really much less truffle so we you will just have a hint then might be better. Never thought that truffles can ruin food.. in this case, it definitely did :( Ajitama Shoyu Soba (Shoyu Soba is without egg but Ajitama has)

Making your OOO much more Christmassy ....

"And they're hanging their stockings!" he snarled with a sneer, "Tomorrow is Christmas! It's practically here!" Then he growled, with his Grinch fingers nervously drumming, "I MUST find some way to stop Christmas from coming!" For Tomorrow, he knew, all the Who girls and boys, Would wake bright and early. They'd rush for their toys! And then! Oh, the noise! Oh, the Noise! Noise! Noise! Noise! -The Grinch by Dr. Seuss Hello People of Whoville , tall & small, young and not so young, It’s almost the Holidays and I can already hear the boys & girls of Whoville chanting Christmas Songs, be it about the red-suited man or the reindeer with a shiny nose that shines so bright. Even little Cindy-Lou Who, who is turning two, is humming (and trying to sing) the only holiday jingle she can so far remember and sing. As for me, I have already put down my work clothes and donned my ugliest Christmas sweater while sipping the yummiest
